Each week, we hunted and vetted the most important and interesting stories being ignored for buzzier headlines.Â
For each story, we researched deeply and broadly to write a concise and friendly summary. We sought accurate and engaging storytelling as well as "skimmability".
We dove deep into what readers need and feel when engaging with the news with interviews and conducted regular polls and surveys.Â
With this reader data, we adjusted our writing in addition to developing novel features beloved by readers such as the "Action of the Week" section and "minutes saved" metric that greeted readers.Â
Readers praised our nuance, brevity, clarity, and even our ASCII comic ending each edition.Â
